AOSR ET Committee Publishes Positions Statements on AI: July 2024

Position Statements of the Emerging Trends Committee of the Asian Oceanian Society of Radiology on the Adoption and Implementation of Artificial Intelligence for Radiology: 2024


The AOSR Emerging Trends Committee has published their work on position statements related to the adoption and implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Radiology in the Korean Journal of Radiology. The primary aim was to raise awareness amongst the general public, promote professional interest and discussion, clarify ethical considerations when implementing AI technology. Engaging the radiology profession is important as the landscape is rapidly changing, some guidelines and principles might prove helpful. The position statements highlight issues that needs to be addressed between the providers and the recipients of the care. Therefore four main principles of medical care was considered in the drawing up of these statements:

▪ Respect for patient autonomy
▪ Beneficience
▪ Non-maleficence
▪ Justice
