About the AOSOR
As an AOSR-led academic program, the Asian Oceanian School of Radiology pursues education and training in radiology and scientific communication among AOSR members.
In 2012, the Asian Oceanian School of Radiology (AOSOR) was conceived to facilitate AOSR educational activities, making them available to all AOSR member societies. AOSOR was established with the mission of providing high-quality education and training in radiology and enable scientific communication between AOSR members. Following an initial incubation period, AOSOR’s first academic activity was the AOSOR-MCoR conjoint session at MCoR EGM 2014 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. At the AOCR 2014 in Kobe, Japan, an AOSOR-AOCR conjoint session was held. In 2015, the AOSOR Youth Club was established. In the following years, AOSOR international fellowship and visiting professor programs were launched.
What are the objectives
The AOSOR's mission is to provide high quality education and training in radiology and enable scientific communication between AOSR members by facilitating AOSR educational activities and making them available to all AOSR member societies. Our AOSR past president, Professor Lenny Tan, established a fund to support AOSR’s educational activities. Part of the mission is also to establish financial independence, so that the activities can be sustained. Through these educational projects, the AOSOR reaches out to member societies to help homogenize the varying academic levels and to strengthen ties between the various Asian Oceanian societies through this process.
